shotmapper(1) CMP Shot Mapper shotmapper(1) NAME shotmapper - An electronic target test program. Plots shot coordinates to an output file for printing and validation of an electronic target. USAGE shotmapper [OPTIONS] SYNOPSIS shotmapper [-help] [-manpage] [-version] [target=name] [caliber= name] [media=name] [filename=name] DESCRIPTION The shotmapper program provides a mechanism to evaluate the accuracy of electronic targets. It allows the inputting of shot coordinates, that are then outputted to an Adobe (C) PDF document. The PDF document can then be printed, for the validation. See TESTING PROCEDURES for further details. OPTIONS -help Display this help message and exit. -manpage Display the man page and exit. -version Display the version information and exit. -target=name Use the specified target dimensions to draw the scoring rings. The options for target dimensions are '300MRifle' (300m Rifle), '50m Rifle' (50m Rifle), '10MRifle' (10m Rifle), '25MRFP' (25m Rapid Fire Pistol), '25MPistol' (50m and 25m Pistol), '10MPistol' (10m Pistol), '50MRT' (50m Running Target), '10MRT' (10m Running Target). If target dimension is not inputting on the command line, shotmapper will prompt for it. -caliber=name Use the specified caliber, to draw the shot holes on the target. The options for caliber are 'AIRGUN' (4.5mm), 'SMALLBORE' (5.6mm), 'BIGBORE' (8.0mm), and 'CENTERFIRE' (9.65mm). If caliber is not inputted on the command line, shotmapper will prompt for it. -media=name Use the specified media type to output the target display to. The options for media type are 'Letter' (8 1/2 by 11 in) and 'A4' (210 by 297 mm). If media type is not inputted on the command line, shotmapper will prompt for it. -filename=name The name of the output file. The output file will be in Adobe (C) PDF format. It is recommended that the extension of the output file is .pdf. TESTING PROCEDURES The following procedure is recommended for evaluating all electronic targets. 1. Secure a high quality paper target directly in front of the electronic target to be tested. 2. Shoot a five to ten shot string at the target, make sure none of the shots touch. 3. Read the x and y coordinates as given by the electronic target. 4. Use shotmapper to input the coordinates from the target. 5. Print the created PDF document. 6. Line the PDF document up with the paper target to verify target's performance. AVALIABILITY shotmapper is provided by the Civilian Marksmanship Program.
