CMP Competitor Handicap Lookup

Use the form below to look up your handicap ratio, or the handicaps for any competitor. If you do not know your competitor number you may either use the Competitor Number Lookup Form or find the results of any previous CMP match you competited in. The competitor number for each shooter is listed next to their name on the result pages.

Competition Tracker (CT) uses a handicap system that assigns each shooter a ratio, relative to 1, representing their skill level. A handicap above 1 means the shooter is better than the average shooter. A handicap below 1 means the shooter is still developing his or her skill. A handicap of 1 either means the shooter is average or has not competed in a match yet. The ratio also represents how much above or below the average shooter is. For example, if a shooter has a handicap of 1.02, this means he or she typically shoots a score 2% better than the average shooter. CT automatically calculates the handicap for each shooter based on competitions from the previous two years.

Handicap rankings, now included in most CMP competitions, are a means to recognize developing shooters who have worked hard to improve their skills. Closely related, the National Rankings are a means to recognize the most outstanding shooters in the country.
