The following biography was written by Hap Rocketto The Kerin family of Pennsylvania accounts for an amazing four of Distinguished Badges. Family patriarch Anthony, sons David and Mark, and daughter Toni are all Distinguished, earning their awards between 1981 and 1989.
Even in a sport where fathers and sons, as well as brothers are often Distinguished it is rare to find a family so fully involved in the pursuit of excellence.
David went Double Distinguished in 1997 when he added a Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge to the family’s long list of shooting accomplishments. Toni became the first woman in the National Guard to earn Distingusihed with the rifle in 1989.
Only the the three Lacy brothers from the Connecicut National Guard of the 1930s comes close to matching this family's dedication to the sport. |
