The following biography was written by Hap Rocketto

TSGT Neil Jensen, USAF, is the son of Distinguished Rifleman MSG Edmund Jensen, North Dakota Air National Guard. They are the only father and son pair of Distinguished in the Air Force.

Neil Jensen earned his Distinguished at an Airman First Class and was presenetd USAF Badge #200. He contunued to shoot and a clerical error saw him awarded USAF Badge #279 when he was a Techinical Sergeant. When he pointed out the error was told to keep the Badge by the issuing authority.

He gave Badge #279 to his friend John J. Jackson after Jackson went out as a civilian. Jackson had earned some USAF leg points while on active duty as a U-2 pilot and presenting him with the Badge was Jensen's way of recognizing Jackson's Air Force shooting service.
